Important Note About Branded Apps
If your company uses a branded version of the Precise Petcare app, be sure to search for and reference your company’s app name instead of "Precise Petcare" in your device settings.
Quick-Start Checklist
Turn Location Services on in the device settings.
Grant the mobile app “Always” (iOS) / “Allow all the time” (Android) access.
Remove battery restrictions for the app (Android) or disable Low-Power Mode (iOS) while you work.
If you use a browser instead of the app, give the site permission to read location.
Why GPS Tracking May Stop Working (Android)
Android devices include built-in battery and data-saving features that can limit apps running in the background.
When these features are active, the system may:
- Pause GPS updates
- Delay or prevent data syncing
- Block the app from running unless it is opened manually
This can happen even if the app is installed correctly and permissions are enabled.
These behaviors are part of Android’s power management system (often called “battery optimization” or “Doze mode”), which reduces background activity to save battery life.
Using the mobile app (recommended)
iPhone / iPad
Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services → ON.
Scroll to Precise Petcare → Location → choose Always.
Switch Precise Location ON.
Verify Background App Refresh is enabled (it is disabled when Low-Power Mode is active).
Android phones & tablets
Settings › Apps › Precise Petcare › Permissions › Location → Allow all the time.
Settings › Apps › Precise Petcare › Battery → Unrestricted (or No limits / Not optimized, wording varies).
Disable Battery Saver while using the app
Ensure Background Data is enabled
If any of these are restricted, tracking and syncing may stop when the app is not open.
Can’t find these options? Uninstall → re-install the app and grant location access when prompted.
Using a mobile or desktop browser
Chrome on Android
Chrome › Menu (⋮) › Settings › Site settings › All sites.
Search for your login URL (e.g., yourcompany.petssl.com).
Tap the entry → Location → Allow.
Safari on iOS
Settings app › Privacy & Security › Location Services.
Set Safari Websites to While Using.
For other browsers: visit whatismybrowser.com to identify your exact browser, then contact support for steps.
Troubleshooting
Location switch off – Confirm the global Location Services toggle is on (iOS) or “Use location” is enabled (Android).
Battery savers – Disable Low-Power Mode (iOS) or Battery Saver / Adaptive Battery (Android) while on visits.
Outdated app – Update the app in the App Store / Google Play.
Stale permissions – Force-close the app, then reopen; if prompted, choose “Allow all the time.”
Device restart – A simple reboot often restores GPS connectivity.
