Introduction
Addons are optional extras—Nail Trim, Plant Watering, Medication Admin—that can be attached to a regular visit. They add price and sitter pay but never replace the Base Service.
Key Difference from Surcharges
- Addons are optional extras selectable by clients during a request and appear on schedules for both clients and sitters.
- Surcharges are automatic fees (holiday, after-hours, territory). They never show on schedules—only Administrators and Managers see them in visit details, and clients see them only on the invoice.
Do not use addons for standalone extra fees. If you need an automatic charge, use Surcharges instead.
Creating an Addon
Navigate to Operations › Service Settings › Addons.
Click New Addon.
Enter an Addon Name clients and staff will recognize.
Limit by Service – check the Base Services where this addon can apply.
Limit by Time Block – optional; use this to restrict an addon (e.g., Plant Watering) to daytime windows only.
Default Client Price and Default Sitter Pay – starting amounts or percent pay.
Additional Pet Pricing – add surcharges by pet count.
Reminder: “1+” means one or more pets (extra charge starts with the first pet). Choose “2+” if you want the fee only for a second pet onward.
Click Save.
Applying Addons to Visits
When adding new visits – after choosing Service and Time Block, tick the addon(s) under Optional Addons.
Existing visits (bulk) – on the Master Schedule, select visits, then click Actions > Addon.
Existing visit (single) – open the visit > Add Addons button.
What clients and sitters see
Clients – during service request, addons appear as selectable checkboxes only if the chosen service and Time Block allow them.
Sitters – inside the Pet Care Journal, the Other Actions panel lets them mark which addons were completed (clients only see the ones checkmarked).
Calendar display – the visit title shows “+ Nail Trim” (or similar) after the base service name.
Tips & Notes
Addons inherit taxes from the Base Service unless you set a custom rate.
Retire an addon by toggling Active to No—never delete one that appears on past visits.
Use Bulk Edit to reprice multiple addons at once.
