The surcharges (managed from the Petcare > Services & Times > Surcharges page) are a powerful way for you to automatically add extra fees and/or extra pay to visits depending on preset conditions.
- Click on the button to add a new surcharge
- Choose from the following Types:
- Holiday - Surcharges for holidays (with the system providing a selection of common holidays and the date every year)
- Day(s) of Week - Specific days of the week (select Days below)
- Time of Day - Early (before a specific time) or late (after a specific time)
- Location - Surcharge based on client territory (read more about territories here)
- Last Minute - Surcharge for requests made within a specific number of hours or days of the visit
- Custom - Create your own custom "holidays" with surcharges for a date or range of dates; also create any non-automatic surcharges which you can apply manually
Surcharges can be a percent of the visit price or a set amount
- The Frequency can either be "Per Day" (surcharge applied only once per day per client where applicable) or "Per Visit" (surcharge applied to all visits where applicable)
- To prevent the surcharge amount from ever receiving a discount (see Discounting Services), set Surcharge can be discounted to "No"
- If using a Holiday type surcharge you can use the Create Ongoing Visits on selected Holidays setting to prevent the system from creating new ongoing visits on those holidays
- Automatic surcharges will only be applied in the following circumstances:
The surcharge is active
- The visit matches the Type (holiday, weekend, etc.) conditions
The visit is a base service selected in Service(s)
- A matching Per Day surcharge hasn't already been applied
- Automatic Surcharges haven't been turned off in the Client Profile
- All surcharges can be applied to any visit manually (including automatic surcharges) by using the "Surcharge" button on the Master Schedule
- Any applied surcharge can be manually removed by using the "Surcharge" button on the Master Schedule or editing the visit
